MANILA – Southeast Asian (SEA) Games gold medalist Noelle Nikki Camille Zoleta will lead the Philippine campaign at the 6th Indonesia Soft Tennis Championships, which will kick off at the Club Exsecutif Persada in Jakarta, Indonesia on Thursday.

Noelle Nikki Camille and elder sister, Noelle Conchita Corazon Zoleta-Mañalac, were crowned doubles champions at the 2019 Manila SEA Games.

Joseph Arcilla, a member of the gold-winning men's team in the 2019 SEA Games, and 2019 Asian University Soft Tennis Championships bronze medalist Princess Catindig are also seeing action in Jakarta, together with Christy Sanoza and Sherwin Nuguit (University of Perpetual Help), Virvienica Isearis Bejosano (San Beda University), Fatima Amirul (National University), Thor Moralde (Letran College), Patrick Ares Mendoza (University of the East), and Bea Ebriega.

The 6th Indonesia Soft Tennis Championships is the second international tournament for Filipino netters after the Korea Cup in September.

The athletes are accompanied by head coach Divine Escala and assistant coaches Michael Inrequez, Roel Licayan, and Bing Paguyo.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Soft Tennis Association has conducted an open tryout to select the members of the team for next year's SEA Games in Cambodia, Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, and Asian Championships in Thailand.

The tryout was held on November 4-6, November 11-13, and November 18-20, respectively, at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Malate, Manila. (PNA)
