CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The chief of the Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO-3) on Saturday ordered the Pampanga police to conduct an in-depth investigation on the killing of two members of the Mabalacat City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit.

Brig. General Cesar Pasiwen, PRO-3 regional director, said he has directed Pampanga Police Provincial Director, Col. Levi Hope Basilio, to conduct a thorough probe for the immediate resolution of the early Saturday slaying of Senior Master Sergeant Sofronio Capitle Jr. and Staff Sergeant Dominador Gacusan Jr.

“No stone will be left unturned and we are exerting all efforts to give justice to the slain cops,” Pasiwen said in a statement.

Investigation showed that the victims were on board a single motorcycle in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City after conducting an anti-illegal drugs operation around 3:40 a.m. Saturday when they were shot by five still unidentified assailants.

“The suspects then alighted from their motorcycles and shot the victims, who had already fallen on the pavement, at point blank range on their heads that resulted in their untimely death,” the report said.

The police said the still unidentified suspects were wearing bonnets and armed with unknown caliber of firearms on board two motorcycles. (PNA)
