MANILA – Petro Gazz on Tuesday scored a 25-17, 22-25, 25-12, 25-22 victory over Cignal to claim the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference title at the PhilSports Area in Pasig City.

Import Lindsey Vander Weide finished with 19 points for the Angels, who survived Game One, 25-21, 27-25, 37-35 last Thursday. She was named Best Import and Finals MVP awards.

Jeanette Panaga and Celine Domingo contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively, for Creamline, the Open Conference and Invitational champions.

"We did not get the grand slam but there are more opportunities to get it," said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses after the match. "It's not lost on us, just one game at a time. We will still be intact so we have chances."

Julia Melissa De Guzman, who finished with four points, made 26 excellent sets for Creamline.

“What a way to end our campaign with a win. We really had to dig deep and we’re happy for (winning) the bronze. We’ve been through a lot this year,” she said.

The Chery Tiggo Crossovers managed to dominate the third set, taking advantage of the absence of Creamline team captain Alyssa Valdez who injured her right knee.

Mylene Paat topscored with 19 points for the Crossovers, who also got 13 points from import Jelena Cvijovic. Ennajie Laure added 11 points while Czarina Grace Carandang had 10 points. (PNA)
