183.7K older adults in Caraga now fully vaccinated

BUTUAN CITY – Some 183,718 older people (senior citizens) in the Caraga Region are fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Nov. 26, the regional Department of Health (DOH-13) office said Wednesday.

“The number of fully vaccinated senior citizens under the A2 category represents 88.6 percent of the total number of A2 population target for vaccination in the region,” DOH-13 said in a statement.

In this city, the agency said 38,029 senior citizens are fully vaccinated during the period or a vaccination rate of 135.2 percent.

In the provinces, 41,649 senior citizens are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in Agusan del Sur; followed by Surigao del Sur, 41,005; Surigao del Norte, 29,858; Agusan del Norte, 25,417; and Dinagat Islands, 7,760.

The highest percentage of seniors vaccinated during the period per province are: Agusan del Sur at 91.9 percent; followed by Agusan del Norte (85.9 percent); Surigao del Sur (84.3 percent); Surigao del Norte (67.9 percent); and Dinagat Islands (66.9 percent).

The same report also indicated that 3,867,882 Covid-19 vaccines were administered in Caraga during the period, with 1,756,996 individuals fully vaccinated, and 1,898,757 others given their first dose.

For booster shots, 57,295 have received their two doses of the vaccine, while 389,569 individuals with their first jab. (PNA)
