12-hour power interruption to hit some parts of Nueva Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Some areas in the province of Nueva Ecija will experience power interruption for up to 12 hours on Tuesday.

In an advisory issued by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), the areas that will be affected by the shutdown of transmission lines are those being serviced by the Nueva Ecija II-Electric Cooperative Inc.-Area I (NEECO II-Area 1) and Nueva Ecija II-Electric Cooperative Inc.-Area II (NEECO II-Area 2).

"The power interruption is due to the replacement of the conductor along the Cabanatuan - Bulualto 69-kilovolt line," the NGCP said.

The 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. scheduled brownout will affect the towns of San Isidro, Cabiao, Jaen, San Antonio and Zaragoza as well as Gapan City.

On the other hand, the areas covered by NEECO II - Area 2 such as the towns of Sta. Rosa, San Leonardo and Peñaranda, will experience a 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. brownout.

Meanwhile, other areas including the towns of Talavera, Natividad, Bongabon and Gabaldon will have power interruptions from 6- 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 - 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The NGCP has advised its customers and the general public to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled power interruption. (PNA)
