BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Two passengers died while 11 others sustained injuries when the bus they were riding crashed into a concrete electric post in Orani town, this province on Tuesday.

In his report, Col. Rommel Velasco, provincial director of the Bataan Police Provincial Office, said only one of the two fatalities has been identified -- Eva Oril, 74, a resident of Mariveles town.

Velasco said the 11 injured passengers, including bus driver Jeffrey Santos, were given medical attention.

He said initial investigation revealed the passenger bus owned by Genesis Transport with plate number ABH 1362 was cruising fast under heavy rain heading southbound to Hermosa town at around 2:40 a.m.

Upon reaching the vicinity of Orani town, Velasco said the bus suddenly swerved and crashed into a concrete lamppost.

“Due to the impact, Oril and the other passenger were killed on the spot,” he said in his report. (PNA)
