ZAMBOANGA CITY – The city government has allotted PHP57.6 million for the yearend bonus of its 2,306 employees, an official said Wednesday.

City Budget Officer Geraldine Dela Paz said the allocation was included in the second supplemental budget of the city for the yearend bonus or the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA).

Each qualified employee - regular, casual, and contractual - is entitled to receive a bonus of PHP25,000.

“The City Council approved on Monday the Supplemental Budget 2, which includes the allocation of PHP57.6 million intended for CNA for government employees,” Dela Paz said.

“Based on the guidelines of the Department of Budget and Management, we can provide a maximum of PHP25,000 CNA incentive to each employee. We are happy that we managed to save sufficient funds for the CNA,” she added.

She said they are currently preparing the needed documents for the release of the CNA after Dec. 15.

The CNA is given based on the savings of the city government from travel and communication expenses; repairs and maintenance; transportation and delivery expenses; supplies and materials; and utility expenses without hampering the operation of the office. (PNA)
