1.7K cops, force multipliers deployed in Cordillera for holidays

ENSURING SAFETY. BAGUIO CITY – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCor) has deployed until Jan. 6 about 1,279 policemen to ensure the safety of the churchgoers and tourists who will visit the different churches in the region during the holiday season.  
 
In a phone interview on Thursday, PROCor information officer Capt. Marnie Abellanida said 495 volunteers and force multipliers are also mobilized as part of security and crime prevention measures.
 
Abellanida said of the total, 427 policemen monitor roads and bus and public utility terminals, while 852 secure public markets, parks, malls and places of worship.  
 
He said augmentation security forces are assigned in commercial areas while the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) is ready for deployment anytime. 
 
Abellanida reminded the public to stay vigilant while enjoying the activities prepared for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. 
 
PROCor regional director Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar earlier encouraged them to immediately report any untoward incidents to the nearest police station. (PNA)
