MRT-3 announces shorter operating hours during holidays

MANILA – The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will remain open during the holiday season but will have shorter operating hours.

In a statement Monday, the MRT-3 said operating hours on Dec. 24 and 31 would be shorter, with the first train arriving at North Avenue Station at 4:37 a.m. and the last train at 7:48 p.m.

The first train for its northbound trip on Taft Avenue Station will arrive at 5:18 a.m.; the last train will depart at 8:26 p.m.

On Christmas day (Dec. 25) and New Year’s day (Jan. 1, 2023), operating hours will be longer but the first trains will arrive later than the regular operating hours.

The first train will arrive at North Avenue Station at 6:30 a.m. and the last train will depart at 9:30 p.m. The first train coming from Taft Avenue Station will arrive at 6:30 a.m. and last train at 10:09 p.m.

On Dec. 30, 2022 and Jan. 2, 2023, operations will be based on its regular weekday operating hours, with the first train arriving at North Avenue Station at 4:38 a.m. and last train at 9:30 p.m.; and the first train arriving at Taft Avenue Station at 5:19 a.m. and the last train at 10:09 p.m.

Meanwhile, MRT-3 reminded passengers to refrain from bringing prohibited items such as unsealed food items, weapons and flammable substances to avoid travel delays.

Covid-19 health and safety protocols, such as the mandatory use of face masks, will remain enforced. (PNA)
