CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1.9 million were confiscated in weeklong anti-crime operations in Central Luzon.

Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen, chief of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon), said Tuesday the operations from December 11 to 17 also led to the arrest of 119 drug suspects and 130 wanted persons, 14 of whom were most wanted in the region.

He said 80 individuals were also nabbed for illegal gambling, yielding a total of PHP86,242 in bet money.

Meanwhile, three persons were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and four for robbery, Pasiwen said.

He noted that the apprehension of the suspects has a great impact on the government’s campaign against criminality, especially on illegal drugs, in line with the Malasakit + Kaayusan + Kapayapaan Tungo Sa Kaunlaran (M+K+K = K) program of Philippine National Police chief, Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr.

“This accomplishment only goes to show that PRO-3 is quick in resolving cases and very serious in its campaign against lawlessness,” Pasiwen said in a statement.

He said the PRO-3 would beef up its anti-crime efforts, especially this Yuletide season. (PNA)
