ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two died when their motorcycle collided head-on with a passenger bus early Saturday in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a top police official said.

Col. Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the fatalities as Nepthalie Rhian Blanco, 25, driver of the motorcycle, and her back rider identified as a certain Bryan.

Mallo said the incident happened around 3:15 a.m. along the national highway in Purok 1, Barangay Gandiangan in Imelda town.

Investigation showed the motorcycle and passenger bus of the Lizamay Express Transport Corporation collided after Blanco encroached on the opposite lane.

“Both driver and back rider of motorcycle sustained severe head injuries,” Mallo said in a statement.

Bus driver Socrates Bandico Jr. and his passengers were unharmed. (PNA)
