MANILA – Overcast skies and rains are expected over most parts of the country on Saturday due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the northeast monsoon or "amihan."

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was last estimated over the coastal waters of Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.

It will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.

It will also be cloudy, with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, over Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao due to the LPA.

On the other hand, the "amihan" will bring cloudy skies with rains over Metro Manila, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan.

The rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains brought by the "amihan."

Winds over the whole country will be moderate to strong, moving from southeast to northeast in Northern Luzon and northeast to northwest over the rest of the country.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 22°C to 29°C; Laoag City, 21°C to 30°C; Lipa City, 23°C to 29°C; Metro Cebu, 23°C to 27°C; Cagayan de Oro City, 24°C to 27°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 29°C. (PNA)
