TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regional office here has identified 365,086 poor households of the 848,662 total households assessed in Eastern Visayas.

The new record came through the third phase of “Listahanan” or household assessment that started in 2019, which located and identified qualified beneficiaries of the poverty alleviation program of the government, the DSWD regional office said in a statement on Monday.

Listahanan is an information management system that establishes a database of poor households that will serve as a basis for identifying potential beneficiaries for different social protection programs and services nationwide.

“With the launching of the latest results of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction, the DSWD field office is already formally open to data sharing partnerships to allow stakeholders to gain access to the database in Eastern Visayas,” the DSWD said.

The Listahanan 3 database will serve as the data users' latest guide in identifying potential beneficiaries of their social protection programs and services.

For implementers and developers of social protection programs and services who are interested to gain access to the latest poverty database of the region, they are asked to send an email to [email protected] or visit the office of the National Household Targeting Section of DSWD field office at the Government Center, in Palo, Leyte.

To ensure that the information in the database will be protected, the information is only made available based on strict data-sharing guidelines and only through a memorandum of agreement between the DSWD and the requesting party in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

The DSWD regional office stepped up the validation process in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to clean the list of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.

The 4Ps is the national poverty reduction strategy of the government, as stated under Republic Act 11310 or “An Act institutionalizing Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program" or 4Ps signed on April 17, 2019. (PNA)
