MANILA – The Philippine Army (PA) and the Royal Cambodian Army (RCA) have signed a term of reference (TOR) that would sustain the interaction of the two military services.

The TOR was signed on Jan. 19, Army spokesperson Col. Xerxes Trinidad said in a statement Friday.

"The PA through the leadership of Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. signed an army-level TOR with Royal Cambodian Army Commander Lt. Gen. Hun Manet through a virtual set-up on Jan. 19, 2023 at Philippine Army Headquarters, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila," he said.

Trinidad said the TOR signing was the result of continuous bilateral talks and engagements between the PA and RCA since 2019.

"The TOR also laid out the establishment of a PA-RCA Army Working Group that will develop and plan army-to-army exchanges and activities that will further sustain the engagements of both Armies," he said.

Brawner has conveyed his eagerness and enthusiasm toward cooperation with the RCA.

"I am certain this TOR-signing will truly open new windows of opportunities for our Armies for enhanced defense and security collaboration and mutual organizational growth," he said. (PNA)
