MANILA – Overcast skies and rains will prevail in most parts of Luzon on Saturday brought by the shear line and the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line.

Caraga and Davao Region will experience the same weather condition but brought by the trough of a low-pressure area.

On the other hand, the “amihan” will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Region, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, the Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, and Romblon.

It will also bring partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds will blow over Northern Luzon headed northeast to east, with moderate to rough seas.

The rest of Luzon, the Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will experience similar wind conditions but headed northeast, with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds headed northeast, with slight to moderate seas.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 23°C to 30°C; Laoag City, 22°C to 33°C; Lipa City, 23°C to 28°C; Iloilo City and Bacolod City, 25°C to 30°C; Metro Cebu, 24°C to 30°C; Cagayan de Oro City, 23°C to 31°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 33°C. (PNA)
