MANILA – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) celebrated its 72nd anniversary by partnering with various national government agencies for the One-Stop-Shop Serbilis On-the-Go! activity that kicked off on Monday at the DSWD Central Office.

The activity to be held from Jan. 23 to 27 aims to facilitate and provide a comfortable venue for DSWD Central Office personnel, their relatives and institutional service contractors to conveniently access other government frontline services within the doorstep of the department.

During the opening of the activity, the DSWD invited the Commission on Elections (Comelec), led by chairperson George Erwin Garcia, to showcase their Register Anywhere Project (RAP).

The RAP is an ongoing voter registration project of the Comelec allowing for the reactivation of voter’s records, transfer of voter’s information and enrolment for first time voters.

“The DSWD supports the Comelec in its endeavor to make voter registration easy and accessible to the Filipino people. Hence, a satellite registration site in the DSWD Central Office was established today to provide a venue for the registration of DSWD employees and their relatives for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections,” said DSWD Officer-in-Charge Eduardo Punay in his message.

Punay also expressed the DSWD’s support to the Comelec’s endeavors, citing the importance of partnering with the poll body for RAP.

“Rest assured that the DSWD will support Comelec’s initiatives on voter’s education and voter’s registration to inform more Filipinos about their right to vote and participate in our electoral process,” he said.

Other participating government service providers present in the One-Stop-Shop Serbilis On-the-Go! include the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), Land Transportation Office (LTO), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
