LEGAZPI CITY – The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) on Tuesday said 11 suspects were arrested while 1,145.87 grams of suspected shabu were confiscated in anti-drug operations from Jan. 21-23.
Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, said the anti-drug operations that were conducted in different provinces in the region resulted in the seizure of PHP7,791,116 worth of shabu.
In Camarines Norte, police arrested Leo Asistio Jr., 37, of Sitio Banaba, Barangay Inchican, Silang, Cavite.
Asistio yielded 50 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP340,000 and loaded caliber .38 revolver without make and serial number loaded, Calubaquib said.
Police also nabbed Omar Maralit, 30, of Barangay Guisican, Labo, Camarines Norte, a rice mill operator, by virtue of a search warrant for illegal possession of drugs. He yielded around 1.03 grams of shabu with an estimated value of PHP7,004.
In Camarines Sur, police seized more or less 1,000 grams of shabu with a street value of PHP6.8 million from Ryian Magdalita, 35, of Sampaloc, Manila. Magdalita was cornered by operatives at Zone 1, San Agustin, Pili, Camarines Sur.
Two suspected drug dealers -- Aldin Fortuna, 36 ; and Luis Tampoco Jr., 50, both from San Vicente Ogbon, Nabua, Camarines Sur -- were caught with 20 grams of shabu with a street value of PHP136,000.
In Naga City, authorities nabbed Marvin Badilla, alias "Og-Og", 24; and Augusto Badilla, 40, both of Zone 7, Sagrada Familia, Barangay Peñafrancia, along with street-level individual, Angelo Cipres, 52, of Zone 3, Barangay Igualdad.
Seized from Cipres was some 0.84 grams of shabu with a street value of PHP5,712.
"Both are drug watch-listed individuals. They were arrested in an entrapment operation that resulted in the confiscation of more or less 1.5 grams with an estimated value of PHP10,200," Calubaquib said.
In Masbate province, a "habal-habal" (motorcycle) driver, listed as a street-level individual, was arrested during a buy-bust in Sitio Cambarong, Barangay Poblacion, Monreal. He was identified by operatives as Michael Camposano, 43. Seized from him was some 16 grams of shabu worth PHP108,000.
In Albay Province, Rolly Luna Manila, 38, and Melchor Prince Balsarza Millare, 35, both of Barangay Maroroy, Daraga were busted after selling some 56.5 grams of shabu to a undercover cop in exchange for PHP384,200.
Calubaquib said all the suspects will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
