COTABATO CITY – Two persons were killed in gun attacks in Maguindanao del Sur, police said Tuesday.
Capt. Melvin Laguting, chief of Datu Saudi Ampatuan town police office, identified the first victim as Ansari Salendad, 37, of Shariff Aguak.
Police said Salendad was driving a motorbike with his wife and two children when attacked by motorcycle riding gunmen in Barangay Dapiawan, Datu Saudi Ampatuan town, past 4 p.m. Monday.
“They were heading to Shariff Aguak from Datu Piang town passing Datu Saudi Ampatuan town when ambushed,” Laguting said.
Hours earlier on the same day, a gunman shot dead an elementary school teacher in Barangay Mileb, Sultan sa Barongis.
The town police said Maon, of adjacent Raja Buayan town and teacher of Mileb Elementary School in Sultan sa Barongis, was killed on the spot from gunshot wounds in the head and body.
His 7-year-old nephew was slightly hurt.
Investigation on two shootings are ongoing, police said. (PNA)
