MANILA – A huge part of the country will continue to experience rain showers due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon or “amihan”, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line will prevail over Eastern Visayas and Caraga.

Rains due to the northeast monsoon will be experienced over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol Region.

These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains, PAGASA said.

The northeast monsoon will also cause light rains over the rest of Luzon and the Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, and the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Moderate to rough seas are forecast over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Fishing boats and other small sea vessels are advised not to venture into the sea, and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, PAGASA said winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
