Utah Jazz Markkanen to play his first All-Star game

ANKARA – Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen is among the four players to play their first All-Star game in February.

The Jazz’s forward was selected along with Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Memphis Grizzlies), and Shai-Gilgeous Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) for the reserves.

Finnish forward-center Markkanen, Jackson Jr. and Gilgeous-Alexander are in the West reserves.

Haliburton, on the other hand, will play as a reserve for the East.

The 72nd edition of the All-Star game will be held on Feb. 19 at Salt Lake City's Vivint Arena.

This year's All-Star weekend will start on Feb. 17.

LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo were previously named as the All-Star Game captains.
