MANILA – The northeast monsoon or "amihan" affecting Luzon will bring rain showers across the island, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

Rains will prevail over the Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, and Bicol regions, as well as the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. bulletin.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have light rains.

PAGASA said the rest of the country would experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, warning that flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are still forecast over the eastern section of the country.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
