2 arrested over P4-M shabu haul in Bacolod City

BACOLOD CITY – A total of PHP4.08 million in shabu were seized from two drug personalities during a buy-bust in Barangay 1 here Thursday night, a report of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) showed.

The suspects were identified as Jhonie Cabrillos, 27, and Eric Aguirre y Calopez, 22, both residents of Purok Tangigue in the same village, who were tagged as high-value individuals.

At around 10:20 p.m., the suspects sold a sachet of the prohibited substance worth PHP3,000 to an undercover policeman during the operation conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit.

The suspects also yielded seven heat-sealed plastic sachets and seven knot-tied plastic bags containing about 600 grams of shabu.

Based on the standard drug price of PHP6,800 per gram, the seized illegal drugs were valued at PHP4.08 million.

The arrested suspects, who are detained at Police Station 2, are included in the drugs watchlist of Barangay 1, said village chief Cesar Rillos in a radio interview.

Charges are being readied against them for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
