CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – A new attraction that is seen to open business opportunities and boost local tourism was unveiled Tuesday in Barangay Dulong Bayan, City of San Jose Del Monte, this province.

Local officials led by Representative Florida Robes of the lone district of San Jose Del Monte City and her husband, Mayor Arturo Robes, led the blessing of the “River Park Esplanade” and the new amphitheater located at the New Government Center.

The mayor said the park can be used for various outdoor activities not only by the city residents but also those from neighboring areas.

“This area would be one of the parks of the city government na pwedeng pagdausan ng ibat-ibang okasyon na outdoor na whether may gusto ang taong puntahan o pagdiriwang ay dito na pwedeng gawin (This area would be one of the parks of the city government that can be used in various outdoor occasions by people who want to visit or celebrate),” he said in a media interview.

He said they saw the potential of the area during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic when people could only go to outdoor areas or open spaces.

The mayor also said they are planning to further develop the area by putting bike and jogging lanes along the riverbank.

“We will also develop the river adventure park for boating activities,” he added.

Rep. Robes, for her part, said the place can be a resting place where people can relax and enjoy.

“Dito nagsisimula ang pag-agapay sa bawat pamilyang San Joseno (Here is the start of supporting every San Joseno family),” the lady solon said as she recalled that the area used to be dark and narrow where no one liked to go.

She expressed confidence that aside from tourism, local businesses would likewise flourish in the area.

“Maayos at maliwanag na ang lugar. Ang trabaho ay sunod sunod na dumarating at ang imprastraktura na rito na rin sa aming lugar (The place is now orderly and well-lighted. The jobs keep on coming and the infrastructures are already here in our place),” she added. (PNA)
