DAVAO CITY – The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has utilized about PHP53 million in medical and burial assistance for both its central and Davao satellite office from January to February this year, an official said Thursday.
"We were given a big budget for medical and burial (assistance) and we made sure that everyone is accommodated," OVP spokesperson Reynold Munsayac said in a press briefing here.
Munsayac also noted that since July last year, the OVP has utilized PHP260 million for medical and burial aid.
He said from July to December 2022, a total of 3,818 individuals availed of the OVP assistance, while from January to February this year, 1,849 individuals also sought their service.
With a hefty budget, Munsayac said the OVP is set to add two more satellite offices, specifically in the Bicol region and the Isabela area.
Currently, the OVP has seven satellite offices situated in the cities of Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, Tacloban, Dagupan, Zamboanga, and Surigao del Sur province.
"Vice President Sara wants to create a lasting impact upon the lives of the Filipinos and to deliver service through the satellite offices," Munsayac said.
He said to avail themselves of OVP assistance, applicants must complete the prescribed requirements indicated in the application form at their offices. (PNA)
