MANILA – A Cebuano bettor became the latest millionaire from the government's lottery games.

In an advisory Friday, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Melquiades Robles said the bettor guessed the winning combination 06-18-26-29-17-11 of the Lotto 6/42 draw on Thursday night, which carried a total jackpot prize of PHP16,319,245.

The ticket was purchased in Mandaue City, Cebu.

Meanwhile, 81 other bettors won PHP24,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 3,171 will get PHP800 each for four correct digits, and 38,977 will settle for PHP20 each for three correct digits.

The bettor can claim the check at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City upon presentation of the winning ticket and two identification cards.

Lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

Prizes not claimed within a year shall be forfeited.

The 6/42 Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

This is the fourth time this month that a lone bettor won the jackpot of the state lottery games.

Last Tuesday, a lone bettor from Pulilan town, Bulacan province became an instant millionaire after hitting the PHP109-million jackpot of the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw while on Monday another lone bettor from Bayugan town, Agusan del Sur province became an instant millionaire after hitting the PHP12-million jackpot of the Mega Lotto 6/45 and last March 3, a lone bettor from Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental province became an instant millionaire after guessing the six-digit combination of the Super Lotto 6/49 with jackpot prize of PHP18.7 million.

Meanwhile, a 46-year-old lotto player from Lavezares town, Northern Samar province finally claimed the Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot prize of PHP63,152,025 last Feb. 27 at the PCSO main office.

The aforementioned jackpot-bearing game was drawn on Feb. 19, 2023, with a winning combination 47-46-35-25-15- 04.

The winner, who runs a small sari-sari store from his house, had relied on and played PCSO lotto games for over 25 years before having a life-changing experience. According to him, these lucky numbers were a combination of the birthdates and ages of his family and relatives.

He also stated that a portion of his winnings would be donated to the church and used for various investments, such as insurance, support for their children's education, and business expansion.

Maraming salamat po PCSO (Let's continue to support the PCSO in their endeavor to help the people through the lottery games. Just like I was given a chance to win, I believe that luck will come your way too. Just keep believing while helping others. Thank you very much PCSO).” he quoted.

Lotto results and other details of the PCSO games, products and services can be viewed on the PCSO Official Website, PCSO FB Page and PCSO GOV Channel on YouTube.

Robles urged the public to support the agency’s gaming products in order to raise additional revenue for health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities.

Through its mandatory contributions, the PCSO helps individuals in need of medical assistance and also provides funds to government institutions. (PNA)
