Mindanao PA vows stronger link between RDC-13, OP

BUTUAN CITY – Presidential Assistant (PA) for Eastern Mindanao Secretary Leo Magno has vowed to forge a stronger link between the Regional Development Council (RDC) 13 (Caraga) and the Office of the President (OP).

Magno gave the assurance during the RDC-13 meeting here Wednesday, presided over by Dinagat Islands Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. who serves as the chair of the development body.

“Secretary Magno was invited by the RDC-13 chair as a new member and honored guest in the meeting held at the National Economic and Development Authority conference hall in Butuan City,” the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao (Opamin Eastern) said in a statement Wednesday.

It added that Magno vowed to bridge the RDC-13 and the OP through the Office of Special Assistant to the President Secretary Anton Lagdameo Jr.

The RDC is the highest planning and policymaking body in Caraga.

Opamin said the PA for Eastern Mindanao also hopes to become a regular member of the board of RDC-13.

Among the major proposed projects tackled during the RDC-13 meeting with Magno is the establishment of a road network to link Dinagat Islands province to Surigao City, as well as the implementation of airport development projects in the cities of Surigao City and Butuan.

Also included in the agenda were the proposed establishment of the Butuan International Logistical Seaport, the construction of Surigao City and Bislig City Fish Port Project, and the Cruise Ship Port in Dapa, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. (PNA)
