BUTUAN CITY – After having been assessed to be "self-sufficient," at least 445 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries here have exited from the conditional cash transfer initiative, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 13 (Caraga) said Wednesday.

“These households were assessed as self-sufficient and have improved the levels of their well-being,” DSWD-13 said in a statement, adding that the exit was recognized in a ceremony on Tuesday dubbed as “Katumanan."

“Katumanan” means realization, actualization, or fulfillment in Cebuano.

According to DSWD-13, the beneficiaries are already financially stable as they now own some businesses while others have family members who have completed college studies with employable and productive skills.

It also noted that some of the beneficiaries were assessed with some level of wealth and assets.

Meanwhile, DSWD-13 also announced the exit of 84 household beneficiaries from the 4Ps program in Loreto, Agusan del Sur on Tuesday.

At least 6,858 household beneficiaries in the region have exited from the 4Ps program since 2022, it added. (PNA)
