MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday led the distribution of various government assistance worth over PHP340 million in Limay, Bataan.

Marcos thanked the residents for supporting his campaign last year, as he assured that his administration will continue providing aid to those in need.

Kaya’t ito na po ang pagkakataon ko na makabalik sa inyo bilang Pangulo na kayo ang gumawa – na makabalik sa inyo bilang Pangulo at magpasalamat sa inyo (This is my chance for me to give back and thank you as President, which you helped make possible),” the Chief Executive said in his speech.

Kaya’t ang isusukli po namin sa inyo ay walang tigil na trabaho upang gawing mas maganda ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino. Asahan niyo po na ang inyong pamahalaan ay hindi kayo nakakalimutan. Basta’t sinabi ninyo [na] kayo ay nangangailangan eh tuloy-tuloy pa rin po ang aming ibibigay na tulong (That's why what we will give in return is non-stop work to uplift the lives of every Filipino. Rest assured that the government will not leave you behind. As long as you need the help, we will continue reaching out),” he added.

According to the Presidential Communications Office, the Department of Agriculture allotted PHP90.1 million for the improvement of the Sitio Nazareno-Culis Farm-to-Market road and PHP180.3 million for the construction of a fish landing facility in Orani, Bataan.

Marcos handed over reinforced boats with marine engines, fishing paraphernalia and fisheries post-harvest equipment with a total cost of PHP1.2 million from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

Among those given through certificates of award included a fry holding facility, milkfish fingerlings, tilapia fingerlings and smokehouse, amounting to PHP3.7 million.

Under the Department of Labor and Employment, around PHP6.8 million was distributed for the Integrated Livelihood Program; PHP38.9 million for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers; and PHP15 million for the Special Program for Employment of Students.

Around 945 beneficiaries each received PHP5,000 worth of assistance under the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations.

The DSWD’s Disaster Response Management Division also gave out 1,000 family food packs, amounting to PHP777,000.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, on the other hand, gave out ovens and toolkits to STEP scholars. (PNA)
