MANILA – The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) will again have Asics as the official outfitter of Team Philippines in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) in Cambodia on May 5 to 17.

The partnership covers 1,500 sets of the Japanese brand’s merchandise for the members of Philippine delegation, composed of 840 athletes and 300 coaches.

Included in the national team kits are tracksuits, t-shirts, polo shirts, shorts, backpacks, caps, socks and footwear.

“Asics has been tested in many competitions abroad. Their apparel, including the shoes, are all high end and made from quality materials,” said POC president Abraham Tolentino during the formal sponsorship ceremony at a restaurant in Pasay City on Friday.

It will be the fifth time that Asics will be the official outfitter of the Philippine delegation after the 2019 Manila and 2022 Vietnam SEA Games, 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, and 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Athletes and coaches to the ASEAN Para Games on June 3 to June 9 will also also be outfitted by Asics.

Also present during the sponsorship ceremony were Sonak chief technology officer Kabir Buxani and director Filipina Lorenzo, POC deputy secretary-general for international affairs Bones Floro, and Philippine National Volleyball Federation president Ramon Suzara. (PNA)
