CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Local officials and residents of the province of Bulacan on Wednesday thanked the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for implementing a massive housing project that could provide Bulakenyos with decent, safe and affordable shelters.

Governor Daniel Fernando, in his message during the groundbreaking ceremony of the sixth Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH) project in Pulilan town, said the government's flagship housing program is a fulfillment of a life-long dream of many Filipinos to have a home they could finally call their own.

With President Marcos at the groundbreaking ceremony of the sixth 4PH project in the province was Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, along with other government officials and local chief executives.

Earlier, they also led similar groundbreaking ceremonies in the City of San Jose del Monte and San Rafael town.

However, 4PH projects in Pandi, Guiguinto and Malolos City also had groundbreaking ceremonies without the President.

A total of 12,563 housing units will be constructed during the initial phase of the six projects. But based on the submitted master development plans, the projects could produce about 30,000 shelters when expanded into additional phases.

The 4PH Project targets to build one million housing units annually until 2028 to address the country’s backlog of more than 6.5 million units.

Apart from building decent, affordable and resilient homes, the 4PH Project will also be instrumental in elevating the quality of life of Filipino families as the housing units are constructed in safe and self-sustaining communities wherein the beneficiaries need not move away from their hometowns and sources of livelihood.

Fernando thanked the Chief Executive for initiating the 4PH project which aims to fulfill the basic needs of families to have dignified shelters in well-planned communities.

From every Bulakenyo, thank you for your good disposition that aims to ease the problems being faced by ordinary citizens in daily life. It is an honor for our province and every Filipino citizen to have a house which they can call their own. For our constituents, there is no need for luxury, just even a simple house as long as it is sturdy and safe, this is a good start to live happily)," the governor said.

Pulilan Mayor Maria Rosario Ochoa-Montejo said it is fitting to thank the President for the project that will serve as the realization of one of the dreams of the town residents.

"Salamat sa ating Pangulo. Ang aming mga pangarap, ang ating mga pangarap ay hindi na pangarap lamang (We are thankful to our President. Our dreams will no longer be just dreams), " the mayor said.

Several beneficiaries of the housing project also expressed their gratitude to the Marcos administration, saying the 4PH project is a huge step toward realizing their dream of owning a house.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Pangulong Marcos at nabigyan kami ng ganitong pagkakataon na magkaroon ng pabahay dito sa aming lugar. Nagpapasalamat po kami dahil sa bandang huli syempre yung mga anak namin magkakaroon ng matatawag na sariling kanila po, para sa amin (I am thankful to President Marcos that we were given this kind of opportunity to have a housing project in our area. We are thankful because in the end, our children will have what they can call their and our own)," Marissa Sepato, a resident of Barangay Balato, said.

Lovelio Mendoza, a driver, likewise said he is happy for the opportunity given to his family to have their own house. (PNA)
