Skilled workers in CamSur get livelihood kits

LEGAZPI CITY – At least 36 identified skilled workers in Camarines Sur received a Kabuhayan Starter Kit from the Department of Labor and Employment in Bicol (DOLE-5) early this week.

In an interview on Thursday, DOLE-5 spokesperson Johana Gasga said the agency, through its provincial office awarded the livelihood packages to the beneficiaries early this week.

"The Kabuhayan kits are comprised of tools used in welding, carpentry, tile setting, and ice cream vending worth PHP994,324 to skilled workers in Pamplona, Camarines Sur," she said.

Gasga said the starter kits can help augment the families' income and sustain their children's basic needs and education.

The beneficiaries were grateful for the assistance they received, she noted. "The faces of beneficiaries showed their gratefulness and happiness in receiving the livelihood grant from the DOLE," she said.

In a statement, Alex Apuyan, one of the beneficiaries who owns a vulcanizing shop, expressed his gratitude to DOLE.

"Thank you so much po sa livelihood program na tinao kan DOLE in coordination to the local goverment unit of Pamplona headed by our Mayor Arch. Dennis Imperial and Vice Mayor Sefa Fabi, Councilor Onding Belo Butial, Rosalie Razon at sa gabos na SB member at sa DOLE. Dakulaon na bagay po ine mga kagamitan lalo na sa arog ko na igwang vulcanizing shop salamat pong maray ta saro po ako sa nabinipisyaran kan arog kaining programa salamat po at Dyos na ang bahalang magbalos saindo (Thank you so much for the livelihood program that DOLE organized in coordination with the local government unit of Pamplona headed by our Mayor Arch. Dennis Imperial and Vice Mayor Sefa Fabi, Councilor Onding Belo Butial, Rosalie Razon and all Sangguniang Bayan members and DOLE. Equipment is a big deal, especially in what I call a vulcanizing shop. Thank you for coming. I am one of the lucky beneficiaries of this program. Thank you and God will repay you)," Apuyan said.
