Pilot, 8 passengers safe as plane overshoots runway in Isabela

MANILA – All the nine people on board the Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain aircraft that overshoot the Palanan Airport runway are safe, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported Wednesday.

The aircraft with call sign RP-C 8262 got involved in a runway excursion at around 10:13 a.m.

The pilot and the eight passengers safely disembarked the plane, and normal operations resumed at 11:23 a.m., according to CAAP.

Investigators from CAAP's Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board (AAIIB) will assess the situation and supervise the extraction of the disabled aircraft.

CAAP is also working closely with the operator, Cyclone Airways, for the investigation and resolution of the incident, it said. (PNA)
