Search on for 10 outstanding Ilocos Norte police officers

LAOAG CITY – The search is on for Ilocos Norte’s top 10 outstanding police officers in the service (INTOPS) to recognize their achievements and dedication to public service.

Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Ilocos Norte on Monday unanimously approved provincial ordinance number 2023-04-042 creating the INTOPS.

Sponsored by the committee on peace and order, the competition is open to all police officers who are on active duty or those who died in the line of duty in the province.

As stated in the award criteria, applicants can be recommended based on their significant accomplishments in investigation and detective management, police community affairs and development, intelligence, and special operations services; operations, plans, and strategy management; women and children protection and family juvenile, and gender and development; public safety traffic management, tourist protection, and health services; anti-terrorism/ anti-insurgency; anti-illegal drugs operations and Barangay drug clearing and rehabilitation; information and communications technology services/ anti-cybercrime investigation; and administrative and support services.

“In addition, the nominees must also demonstrate competence to duty, display constancy and faithfulness to their callings, and have extraordinary contributed in the maintenance of peace and order in the community among others,” the ordinance stated.

A total cash prize of PHP100,000 await the awardees with a plaque of recognition from the selection committee, led by Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc.

The public is encouraged to send their nominations.

The deadline for filing of nomination shall be on the third week of May. (PNA)
