ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – Acting on a tip, police authorities in the provinces of Maguindanao del Sur and Sultan Kudarat arrested in the hospital here Sunday a woman suspected of serving as finance officer of Dawlah Islamiya (DI) terrorist group.

Capt. Joel Lebrillo, police chief of the Rajah Buayan municipal police station in Maguindanao del Sur, said Racma Dinggo Hassan was arrested at the Sultan Kudarat provincial hospital based on an arrest warrant against her.

“Before her arrest, Hassan was confined at the provincial hospital situated in this town the past three days due to head injuries,” he said in a statement Monday.

Lebrillo said the operation was jointly conducted by the Isulan municipal police office, the police’s Special Action Force, and the police mobile groups from Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao del Sur.

Hassan, who also goes by the name Halimba Ebrahim, is facing multiple frustrated murder charges with a recommended bail bond of PHP120,000.

Lebrillo said Hassan is the wife of Norodin Hassan, a subleader of the DI Hassan Group operating in the peripheries of the two provinces.

Norodin Hassan was killed during an operation by government forces on January 15, 2022 in Barangay Tunganon, Carmen, North Cotabato.

Three of his followers were also killed and seized from them were two rifles and improvised explosive devices.

Lebrillo described Hassan's wife as a "financial facilitator and liaison officer of the DI terrorists" who hid in the vast marshlands of Maguindanao del Sur. (PNA)
