MANILA – Far Eastern University (FEU) booked the first seat in the UAAP men's football final after eliminating La Salle from title contention in their semifinal match on Thursday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

FEU won the match 2-0 with goals from Gio Pabualan and Sherwin Basindanan.

Pabualan scored a beautiful free-kick in the 28th minute after La Salle's starting goalkeeper Mig Brosoto made a crucial error, while Basindanan scored in the 87th minute to seal the victory for FEU.

Despite La Salle's goalkeeper replacement Icko Mangaoang making several impressive saves, FEU's Jet Fabrigas also made some crucial saves to prevent La Salle from equalizing.

FEU will now face the winner of the other semifinal between the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the UST Golden Booters in the championship match next Thursday. (PNA)
