BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Information and Communications Technology in the Caraga Region (DICT-13) is offering free Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training to regional and local policymakers as well as civil society groups on a data-driven governance competency framework.
The training is among the three free virtual educational processes the DICT-13 is offering as the agency celebrates the National ICT Month 2023 this June which carries the theme, “Connecting Communities, Enriching Lives, Forging a Digital Future for the Philippines.”
“The training, set from June 19 to 23, will help the participants to determine, describe, document, and demonstrate the value of the data-driven approach to good governance,” the DICT-13 said in a statement Monday.
Training registration is ongoing for interested participants in the region through a link on the agency’s Facebook page.
Participants are instructed to identify rules and standards to guide a data-driven governance management system's plan, design, implementation and operation.
“They will also understand the digital transformative technologies that provide the necessary platform to achieve the goals of data-driven governance," DICT-13 said.
Two earlier scheduled free online training are also accepting participants from the government and private sectors, it added. These include the Digital Transformation ICT Project Management set on June 13 to 17 and the Java Programming from June 13 to 23.
The target participants in the ICT Project Management training include those tasked with managing e-Government projects.
The virtual ICT training, the DICT-13 said, will enable the managers and team members "to analyze, and document the essential or critical elements that identify a project and adopt principles that determine how the project is directed, and controlled.”
Participants will also be taught to determine the valid and verifiable result areas of good performance in project management using established and published practice standards. (PNA)
