MANILA – Rain or Shine (ROS) Elasto Painters survived a San Miguel Beermen comeback and walked away with a 100-98 win in their PBA on Tour clash on Wednesday night at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Elasto Painters nearly blew a 24-point lead they established in the first half as the Beermen drew to within two with 38 seconds left.

The Beermen forced crucial stops in the next play as Rodney Brondial blocked Santi Santillan's layup and Rey Nambatac was forced to take a tough three-point attempt that only hit the top of the backboard before the shot clock expired.

Gabe Norwood, however, blocked Terrence Romeo's potential equalizer, and Santillan retrieved the ball to reclaim possession for ROS.

Anton Asistio, however, missed two free throws that could have already iced the win, and the Beermen had 0.6 seconds to set one last play.

Allyn Bulanadi was found open from the left corner for the game-winning three, but he missed the shot in the end.

Jhonard Clarito led the Elasto Painters with 17 points on 8-for-11 field goals.

Gian Mamuyac added 14 points while Santillan contributed 12 points.

Bulanadi fired 31 points, two rebounds, and five assists to lead the Beermen.

Romeo bucked early foul trouble that saw him getting his fourth foul before halftime mainly due to Asistio's pesky defense and added 25 points, one rebound, four assists, and one steal. (PNA)
