LTO receives initial 5K plastic cards for driver's license

MANILA – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) received Tuesday the initial batch of 5,000 plastic cards for driver's licenses from supplier Banner Plasticard, Inc.

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista and LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II received the cards during ceremonies at the LTO main office in Quezon City.

The first batch of license cards will be distributed to overseas Filipino workers and new driver’s license applicants.

The 5,000 cards are the first batch of the 1 million expected to be delivered in the next 60 days.

Banner Plasticard is expected to produce 15,000 to 30,000 cards daily within 10 days. It committed to delivering 1 million cards in the next two months. (PNA)
