BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) received top awards for exhibiting excellence in the performance of their duties and showing exemplary deeds beyond the call of duty in line with the 122nd Police Service anniversary of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday.
The BCPO, led by city director Col. Noel Aliño, was named Best City Police Office while the NOCPPO, headed by provincial director Col. Leo Pamittan, was awarded Best Police Provincial Office, with overall scores of 97.04 percent and 92.33 percent, respectively.
In rites held at Camp Crame in Quezon City, Aliño and Pamittan received the awards from PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. and Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, who was the event’s guest of honor.
“Reflecting on our journey as an institution, we are reminded of the unity, valor and sacrifice demonstrated by our courageous men and women in uniform. Their dedication to serve and protect the Filipino people serves as the bedrock upon which the PNP stands tall,” Acorda said in his message.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez lauded the BCPO for its “remarkable accomplishment”, saying it is “a testament to the exemplary leadership, professionalism and unwavering dedication exhibited by every member of the team”.
“With an impressive overall rating of 97.04, their outstanding performance has rightfully placed them at the top position among other worthy contenders from across the Philippines,” he added.
Benitez said the award “not only exemplifies excellence in law enforcement, but also instills a profound sense of trust and confidence among the people of Bacolod”.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said that being awarded number one means the NOCPPO is performing well according to the standards of the PNP.
“I told (Col. Pamittan) I hope every year you can maintain that performance,” he added.
The 605th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-Western Visayas led by Maj. Jerome Manahan, based in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, also received the Special Unit Award.
