CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Northern Mindanao Region (PDEA-10) on Wednesday applauded the success of its agents who won 40 medals and a trophy in a recent international taekwondo event.
PDEA-10 Director Benjamin Gaspi commended agents Vincent Cecil Orcales and Jason Pabericio who headed the delegation representing the country at the 9th MBC Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships, held in Taean, South Korea, from Aug. 8 to 12.
“The two showed their exceptional talent and dedication, both in the Taekwondo arena and in their vital roles within PDEA," Gaspi, a lawyer, said.
Orcales, currently the provincial officer of PDEA Lanao del Norte, was the head delegate in the competition, while Pabericio was the head coach, joining other Filipino athletes representing the city.
Their team hauled 40 medals -12 golds, 16 silver, and 12 bronze - including a trophy during the competition.
"Their success is a strong reminder that with hard work, discipline, and commitment to positive pursuits, we can overcome any challenge, just as we work to eliminate illegal drugs from our communities.," the regional PDEA office said in a statement. (PNA)
