CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Cavite police’s crackdown on illegal drugs on Wednesday and Thursday resulted in the arrest of four suspects listed as high value individuals (HVIs) and netted 550 grams of shabu worth PHP3.7 million.

Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Director Col. Eleuterio Ricardo Jr. told reporters that a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Maliksi 1, Bacoor City led to the confiscation of four knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing about 500 grams of shabu, with a standard drug price of PHP3.4 million.

Arrested were three suspects identified as alias "Boss," alias "Mary," and alias "Kim," all residents of Bacoor City.

Meanwhile, a drug buy-bust operation on Wednesday afternoon in Barangay San Juan 1, Dasmariñas City led to the arrest of alias "Ed" and the confiscation of 50 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of PHP340,000.

Ricardo said both operations were properly documented and recorded using an alternative recording device and body-worn cameras.

Appropriate criminal charges are now in process against the arrested personalities while confiscated pieces of evidence were forwarded to forensic unit for examination, he said.

"Let's help each other and continue with our intensified campaign against illegal drugs in our province,” Ricardo said as he encouraged the community to be a part of the Philippine National Police's efforts against illegal drugs. (PNA)
