MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday called on the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing to continue to commit to excellence and capability improvement even as he commended the unit for its stellar service.
Marcos made the pronouncement during the 56th founding anniversary of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City.
The 250th Presidential Airlift Wing, known as the Bluebirds, is the unit of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) that provides air transportation to the President, the First Family, the Vice President, state guests, and other VIPs.
“As we celebrate your achievements, I ask all of you to reflect not just on what you have accomplished, but on what lies ahead,” Marcos told the Bluebirds.
The President reminded the airlift wing that it is not enough “to rest on the laurels of past” but also examine their strengths and weaknesses within and devote to their advancement for it is what truly defines them.
“We must look inward, examine our strengths and weaknesses, and commit to continuous improvement,” Marcos said.
“Let us be reminded that it is not just our work that defines us, but also the depth of our commitment, the strength of our character, and the nobility of our cause,” he added
The President also attributed his humanitarian and disaster-related visits around the country to the Bluebirds, saying he could not do the work he needed to do without the PAF unit.
He assured the unit of his administration’s effort to prioritize the health and wellness of its personnel.
“Rest assured that this Administration is resolute to see that your health, well-being, and wellness are taken care of so that you continue to carry out your duties efficiently,” Marcos said.
The Presidential Airlift Wing has completed 445 flights since the Marcos administration started. (PNA)
