MANILA -- Lightning, moderate to occasional heavy rains, strong winds and flash flood are possible in Metro Manila, the Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Mimaropa.

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 24-hour forecast released Wednesday afternoon, cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms are likely in the said areas due to the southwest monsoon or "habagat".

"Habagat" is affecting Central and Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.

For the rest of Luzon, PAGASA forecast lightning, moderate to occasional heavy rains and strong winds.

Localized thunderstorms can bring partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies apart from isolated rain showers mostly in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA forecasts moderate to occasionally rough coastal waters in Northern and Central Luzon, expecting moderate to occasionally strong winds from southwest to southeast.

Coastal waters can be slight to moderate in Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao as light to moderate winds from the southwest are possible in these areas, it added. (PNA)
