OBIT/ Book author Zenaida Flores-Agustin passes away

Zenaida Flores-Agustin, 86, a poet and book author, has passed away on Christmas Day due to lingering illness, her family announced Thursday.

"Today, our family mourn the passing of our beloved Inay, Zenaida Flores-Agustin. On the day of the birth of our Lord Jesus she was called to join in the feast in heaven as a grace for a life as a wife and mother," her daughter Tatch Agustin wrote on Facebook.

Flores-Agustin was a poet, journalist, magazine and news editor. She also penned the Buhay ng Mga Santo.

Flores-Agustin had also served in the Presidential News Desk under the Office of the Press Secretary and served four past Philippine presidents from Marcos to PNoy.

She also once served as an executive director at the Movie Television Radio Classification Board.

Among others, she was once known too as a consultant on police-community relations of former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and the Reyna ng Balagtasan for her literary accomplishments in Philippine arts and culture.

Flores-Agustin's wake will be at the Manila Memorial Park, Tabang, Plaridel, Bulacan. The interment is at noon on Sunday, December 29.

Flores-Agustin is survived by children Teresita and Emerito Agustin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces. (OBIT)
