ASYA’s Day One, Citicore partner for green initiatives

MANILA – Architectural design firm ASYA Design, through its property management unit Day One, has made the switch to 100-percent renewable energy (RE) through its partnership with renewable energy company Citicore.

Albert Yu, chairman of ASYA and Day One, said the shift to RE will help real estate owners maximize operating costs, improve their property’s value, and put in place a first-class working environment for tenants.

Yu said ASYA and Day One have made pioneering efforts in the Ortigas central business district, focusing on sustainable practices including the use of RE.

Oliver Tan, Citicore president, said Asya-Day One is committed to subscribe to 100-percent RE for their needs, aiming to minimize environmental impact.

“We welcome ASYA Design and Day One Property Management’s efforts and hope that they will pave the way for more companies to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to the spread of renewable energy more broadly,” Tan said.

Known by their compliance with environmental responsibility, ASYA as a company has been incorporating green measures across their businesses.

Asya-Day One's properties have been receiving LEED certifications as a testament to their commitment to green initiatives. LEED is an internationally recognized green-building certification system.

“We will provide tenants financial savings in terms of energy bills and will also serve to help offset the company’s carbon emissions in support of actively expanding our company-wide social responsibility efforts to promote greater environmental sustainability across Day One services, which include reforestation and watershed conservation projects,” Yu said.
