MANILA – The country's total number of recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is now at 577,850, as 103 more patients beat the disease, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Monday.

In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the DOH said the figure represents 86 percent of those who tested positive of the virus that has so far beaten the illness.

The agency also reported 8,019 new confirmed Covid-19 cases and four new deaths.

These figures brought the overall tally of active cases to 80,970 and the death toll to 12,972.

The DOH noted about 95.4 percent of the active cases are mild, 2.2 percent are asymptomatic, 1 percent are severe, 0.52 percent are moderate, and 0.9 percent are in critical condition.

"There were 10 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, and, of these, three recovered cases have been removed. Moreover, four cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.

DOH data on March 22 showed that 4,571 or 14.9 percent of 30,637 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

Currently, there is a 21,400-bed capacity dedicated to patients with Covid-19.

Utilized are 53 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 41 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, and 38 percent of 6,000 ward beds.

About 32 percent of 2,000 ventilators are in use by Covid-19 patients.

The agency urged the public to stay at home to prevent the further increase of Covid-19 cases. (PNA
