KABACAN, North Cotabato – For the first time in two years since the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic broke out, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) here will conduct its in-person graduation ceremony for 3,500 students.

Professor Orlando Forro, the USM security services and management officer, said Thursday the ceremony will be joined by graduates from the school’s 14 colleges as well as the graduate school.

To make sure that the minimum health protocol is observed, the 76th commencement exercises will be conducted as a two-day event: cluster graduation on June 27 and the baccalaureate and commencement ceremony on the 28th.

“We will have limited and strict monitoring of our students, parents, and guests to make sure we follow the Inter-Agency Task Force on Health guidelines for Covid-19, at the same time secure the order in the university’s premises,” Forro said.

He added that students are only allowed to bring one escort and a “no vaccination card, no entry” policy will be imposed.

Also, the wearing of a face mask will be strictly observed. (PNA)
