MANILA – The Intramuros Administration (IA) will implement a skeleton workforce on Monday to ensure the safety of personnel and visitors following the fire that hit Palacio del Gobernador where its office is located.

In a statement Sunday night, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said the IA office at the 5th floor has been declared unaffected by the fire.

"The agency will implement a skeletal workforce at the Intramuros Visitors Center at the Fort Santiago until authorities have confirmed that the Palacio del Gobernador is deemed safe for use," the statement read.

Intramuros Administration is an agency under the DOT mandated to restore, administer, and develop the historic walled area of Intramuros.

According to the initial report of the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), the fire started at the 7th floor of the building, occupied by the IT Division of the Commission on Elections, at around 6:53 p.m.

The BFP said the Manila Fire District reported that the fire reached second alarm at 7:02 p.m. It was declared fire out at 8:18 p.m. (PNA)
