Sara, a tough act to follow

February 4, 2022, 3:20 pm

VICE Presidential bet Inday Sara Duterte is simply a hard act to follow. She is way ahead of her adversaries in all poll surveys but she too is singularly the only candidate who can withstand the rigors of a national campaign, hopping from one island to another not in an air-conditioned van but on a big bike.

This is the first time a woman candidate crosses the country to touch base with the electorates. At every stop in any roadside where her supporters are lining up to get a glimpse of their Inday Sara, she is literally mob and happily obliged herself to endless photo ops, handshakes, and brief talks with some long-lost friends from yesteryears schools.

Either with Bongbong Marcos or by herself the UniTeam caravans quickly assembled thousands of adoring supporters proving this early their strength considering the magma of debasing verbal assaults on BBM.

For her part, Davao City Mayor had wanted to see all nooks and corners of the country to appraise herself with the problems and possibilities in each town, city, and province by talking to people. Last week, she was in Davao provinces with BBM opening the national headquarters of BBM-SARA UniTeam and satellite branches in the region, the next she was in Surigao, then later in Leyte the birthplace of her father, the incumbent President.

It will likely be that the two huge caravans, one led by Bongbong from the north and Inday Sara from the south, will culminate in the Philippine Arena by February 8 for their
proclamation rally. The venue, which is owned by Iglesia Ni Cristo has a capacity of 55,000 people. However, since Bulacan is classified by IATF under Level 2 only 50% of the seating capacity will be allowed.

The indefatigable gutsy lady from the south is a tough act for her all-male opponents who campaign from the comfort of their office. Without her knowing she makes them a bunch of whimpers. Inday Sara is fast becoming the Woman of the Masses.
