PHL-Japan Grant Agreement Signing for Power Distribution in the Bangsamoro

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Chief Representative Susumu Ito (left), and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary of Socioeconomic Planning Ernesto M. Pernia sign a 771 million yen (about PHP340 million) grant aid project to support energy sector in Mindanao conflict-affected areas during the PHL-Japan Grant Agreement Signing for Power Distribution in the Bangsamoro held at NEDA, Pasig City on Thursday (March 30, 2017). The project will be implemented by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) of the Department of Energy (DOE) and is part of JICA'S continuing support to peace and development in Mindanao. JICA's support to the energy infrastructure in Bangsamoro is also part of the agency's development cooperation with the Philippines. (PNA photo by Ben Briones)
